And it is in this new paradigm that <\/span><b>he organizational culture ceases to be a backdrop and becomes the invisible operating system that underpins everything.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Culture as a meeting point (and tension) between generations<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Never before have so many generations lived together in the same professional environment. Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials (Y) and Generation Z occupy the same spaces, share goals... but carry profoundly different values, expectations and ways of relating to work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This <\/span><b>generational meeting<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">especially in contexts of transformation, can be a source of friction - but also of <\/span><b>strategic wealth<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">if mediated by a strong, inclusive and conscious organizational culture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>What each generation brings:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>More experienced generations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> value stability, technical depth, loyalty and functional hierarchy;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Younger generations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> seek autonomy, agility, purpose, social impact and horizontal environments;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>They both want to be heard. Both want to belong.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> But they speak several different languages - and don't always understand each other.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>How does culture organize this constructive chaos?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a VUCA and multigenerational environment, culture needs to function as a <\/span><b>bridge<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">not as a wall. She needs it:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Promoting active listening and intergenerational empathy;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensuring psychological safety for healthy conflict;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Valuing the repertoire of all generations as a strategic asset;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Flexible mental models, ways of working and leading;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Giving clarity of common purpose even with different trajectories<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>In practice: what does this mean for organizations?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It means that it's not enough to have a \"mission on the wall\" - you have to <\/span><b>operate consistently every day<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">integrating the past that has brought us this far with the future that we want to build.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It's understanding that Generation Z doesn't \"not want to work\" - they want to work with purpose, balance and an active voice.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It's realizing that experienced professionals are not \"resistant\" - they carry wisdom, long-term vision and a sense of responsibility.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It's accepting that, yes, there are tensions - but that <\/span><b>every well-managed tension is an opportunity for evolution<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>At MPL, this is more than just talk.
