04 Jan What JD Edwards Users Consider Most Important in 2024
2024 is beginning, so let's take a moment to evaluate our goals and targets for the future and those achieved over the past year. In a survey carried out by our partner Terillium, to the #JDEdwards community, these are the top priorities for users this year:
- Update your JD Edwards system
- Implement Additional JDE Functionality/Modules
- JDE Support
Priority #1: Update your JDEdwards System
With the announcement of version 24 of the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, 50% of the JDE community surveyed are planning to start upgrade projects.
After the release of version 9.2 8 years ago, JD Edwards adopted a continuous innovation model, focusing on delivering incremental value quarter after quarter. By using a continuous line of code and changing the frequency of delivery, the Oracle JD Edwards has eliminated the number of updates and reduced the degree of change between versions. This makes it easier to implement and maintain a current code strategy, which further enables a continuous adoption mentality.
Oracle is continually releasing new features and functions for applications. In fact, more improvements and new tools are added with each version released.
Moving forward with an upgrade also means fully migrating JDE to a new ERP 64-bit. The clients with tool versions 9.2.5.x and earlier are probably running 32-bit JD Edwards and will need to upgrade to use the latest tools (9.2.6.x and higher). Take this year as an opportunity to upgrade with code, infrastructure, third-party applications and orchestrator.
Upgrading is a requirement for clients who want to evolve JD Edwards from a ERP Traditional for a ERP Digital with the aim of becoming a ERP Intelligent. To ensure that your transformation initiatives are carried out successfully, it is essential to capture the next wave of innovation around building intelligence.

Over 18% from the surveyed community prioritized additional features/modules to help automate and eliminate friction in their business processes.
Orchestrator Capabilities
Of the JDE users surveyed who prioritized additional features/modules, almost 58% said that Orchestrator features were at the top of the list.
Although Orchestrator has been around for a while, let's lay the foundations. O Oracle JD Edwards Orchestrator Studio offers a cost-effective way for organizations to simplify their business processes in EnterpriseOne applications. It provides an intuitive graphical user interface that hides the complexity of the root code needed to process orchestrations and service requests - which contains the process steps for transforming Internet of Things (IoT) data into transactions in EnterpriseOne.
With the ever-changing nature of the industry, it's important to keep your financial records, inventory, manufacturing processes, and project data accurate and up-to-date. Orchestrator also allows you to convert third-party data into EnterpriseOne values with cross-reference mapping. Collect, filter, analyze, and act on real-time data with Orchestrator.
