01 Apr Less customization, easier to include company-specific rules in JD Edwards
Following the support-fix MPL Corporate Software scheduled for 2025, on March 18 the topic was: Call Logic Extensions Directly from a Form Extension.
Logic Extensions is an essential component of the JD Edwards multi-application framework. It allows business analysts, not necessarily developers, to use a familiar syntax of Oracle EnterpriseOne event rules to create logic without the need for development and customizations.
Logic Extensions provides a "code-free" way to perform various operations such as string manipulation, arithmetic calculations, logical conditions, loops and much more.
You can add Logic Extensions as a step in an orchestration or call it from a Form Extensions (which is a new functionality, for example, triggered from a screen).
Example: A company has determined a training rule for the Long Number in the General Register. This rule can be implemented without the need for customization using Logic Extension and triggered via a button on the General Register screen itself, filling in the field according to the established logic.
