The production processes of a product, or the organization of an employee's tasks, have a lot in common in their actions. Both depend on the manager's 360º view of the process so that the information in their planning is organized and executed in the most productive way possible.
Even with the help of ERP, orchestrating all this can be very complex, and involve a large amount of hours between planning, execution and control. In the JDEdwards version 9.2 update a new functionality, Light Touch, made it possible to plan and control production on one screen, while the ERP triggers jobs for the people involved in that same job.
Submissions are via email and/or mobile/tablet apps, showing how current technologies, combined with “planned” JDEdwards enhancements, simplify the process to increase efficiency and improve productivity.
