5 items to evaluate before purchasing your ERP:

Many companies choose to choose an ERP for several reasons: seek technological updating, integration of all sectors of the company, search for the best business practices for their company, among others.

But choosing an ERP is not simple. There are a number of important items to be taken into account and, therefore, we talked to our VP Lisiane Rangel, responsible for the commercial department at MPL, and she listed 5 of these important items to be evaluated before purchasing your ERP. Check it out here:

1.Software Supplier – Choose a reference in the market, not just a supplier.

This item is very important. Look for a company that has credibility in the market, references and that invests in product research and development. In addition, having a supplier that has complementary products to the ERP is also an advantage, as it will allow the adoption in the future of other tools that integrate more easily with the chosen ERP.

2.Products – The 3 ESSENTIAL aspects to be successful with an ERP:

The technology: Always look for a modern product, with as much technology as possible. Check if the programming language used in the ERP development is technologically modern. Some ERPs on the market use outdated languages, which restrict performance and increase costs. Ideally, the ERP should be compatible with various technological platforms, operating systems and market databases. Another important point is that the product also offers a pleasant and intuitive graphical interface. Analyzing whether the ERP has the possibility of using mobile technologies is a very important differential. This will bring greater productivity to the users (which is one of the main goals of an ERP) and will allow an easy integration with other applications.

B) Flexibility: See if the product is configurable, because the more flexible it is, the greater the savings for your company, in case you want to modify any process in the future.

C) Features: Make sure the software meets your company's processes. To buy well, it is necessary to know the users' needs and verify that the software has adherence. If you don't have time for this or don't have the processes defined, look for references from companies that have a similar operation to your company. Research if the features necessary to meet your company's expectations are really present in the system offered. Technical deficiencies and software inadequacy, in some businesses, are remedied with additional costs for the customer, which is never a good thing.

3. Quality of support – Understanding the needs of each client.

Both the consultancy and the software supplier need to have a structured support model with quick responses. Having qualified professionals, who perform multitasking, and are already familiar with many environments and segments of companies, is a priority for the functioning of your ERP 100%. Support must resolve any problem or doubt that arises in a practical and fast way, always understanding the needs and limitations of each client.

4.Consulting - A partnership for years.

It is important to choose a consultancy that proposes a partnership with the client and not just the provision of a service. Having a structured and experienced multidisciplinary team to support the project during implementation and after it goes into production is an item to be analyzed as a differential. The consultancy will be your partner for a long time, therefore, it also needs to have tradition in the market, experience in complete implementations and certifications of its technical capabilities.

5.Quality of the proposal - What is offered for Correct Implementation.

In this final item we will deal with the quality of the proposal. Note that the proposal placed in the scope is well detailed, as well as the assumptions, management methodology and responsibilities of each party. It will be the basis for the success of your project, so you can't miss any detail. A good understanding of the scope, the responsibilities of both parties and what is expected from the ERP are some of the necessary factors for a correct and agile implementation.

By observing the above items, your chance of success will greatly increase. Don't forget to consider Oracle and MPL in your assessment. This duo already has numerous successful cases.
