JDEdwards – a success story
46 years ago, the history of JD Edwards, as a consulting company, begins with its founders, jack thompson, Dan Gregory and Ed McVaney in Denver, Colorado.
From 1981 to 1985, JD Edwards expanded its business to 6 additional locations across the United States.
Later, they developed an ERP already thinking about its flexibility. And with that, processing options and fields (tables and codes – UDC) defined by users were created; in addition to allowing access to the product code – a way to facilitate its adoption, since it is possible – until today – to customize it, putting it in your “little way”.
In 1989, through multi-currency, multi-country and multi-language support, JD Edwards expands globally. In 1993, JD Edwards sets foot in Brazil, establishing its close partnership with MPL ever since..
In 1995, JD Edwards announced the One World solution. With a graphical interface and solutions involving a client-server architecture, as an introduction to what we now call CNC – Configurable Networking Computing.
2003 was a great year!
In 2003 JD Edwards merged with PeopleSoft and was later purchased by Oracle. It is also in this year that we won the name of the most used JDE software today, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. The successful merger increased its global footprint, and in 2005 Oracle offered a lifetime support policy to all JDE customers.
In 2015, JD Edwards announced EnterpriseOne 9.2, which offered pre-built Function Pages, UX One, Page Composer and Screen Layouts with Cafe 1. Also announced was Orchestrator, which brings new possibilities for process automation and connection .
Beginning in 2016 and continuing to this day, JD Edwards continues to roll out tools, enhancements and release updates – tools and applications. The infrastructure of cloud for JD Edwards is available and Oracle is constantly extending its support to the tool!
